Reading Class: Esperanza Rising Vocabulary

Today we discovered that there are some challenging words in our literature circle book, Esperanza Rising along with some interesting characters -- imagine a grandmother who walks outdoors barefoot in a vineyard quoting poetry to birds!

Here you can post challenging, new, or unusual words you find in the text (along with page number and dictionary definition) to help us all understand the story better. Make sure you read what others have posted to avoid duplicate entries.

This discussion is part of your literature circle participation grade, so make sure you use proper grammar and spelling. My suggestion is to jot down your ideas before you go to the computer to avoid any careless mistakes.

Requirement: Post as directed by your assignment sheet from January 6 - January 26.

3Rs Assembly

Our Character Assembly is tomorrow afternoon. Mrs. Sigler asked us to get ready by thinking specifically about the 3Rs in the cafeteria setting. Why are the 3Rs important in the cafeteria? What would the cafeteria look like if no one followed any of the 3Rs ever? How can each of us contribute to the 3Rs in the cafeteria?
